The Quibbler - 20 August 1980
MINISTRY INSIDER REVEALS SECRET GOVERNMENT ATROCITIES STERILISATION BILL AND THE TRUTH BEHIND THE FOUNDATION'S MEDICAL PROGRAMME Tacitus Ward Say what you will about the Quibbler being some nutcase's delusional lavatory paper posing as a legitimate newspaper - I completely agree with that sentiment, but this particular article is legitimate and only being printed here because this publication now the only true free press there is in this country. An anonymous insider who had remained working the Ministry of Magic after Death Eaters took over in January recently leaked a number of documents that revealed numerous atrocities the government has committed and will carry out in the future, but which have been kept hidden away from the general public or concealed by propaganda until now. This article is meant to report only the facts of what was revealed to us through these documents. Reproductions of the documents are also included for you to make your own judgements about what the Ministry has already done and what direction is plans to take in the future. THE STERILISATION BILL PROPOSAL The first document was a proposal from purist politician Araminta Meliflua to the Wizengamot about a proposed sterilisation bill that was temporarily shelved back in late July. According to the document, Meliflua was pushing for the legalisation of forced sterilisation for all Muggle-borns and Squibs in the United Kingdom and Ireland, which would make such individuals unable to conceive children. The reasons for proposing the bill included the following; statements with quotes are from the document itself: A copy of the proposal reproduced in its entirety with no modifications has been included with this issue of the Quibbler. THE FOUNDATION'S MEDICAL PROGRAMME FOR PREGNANT WITCHES The second document the Ministry inside leaked was an informal memorandum regarding the fate of babies who were due to be born this past July to magical parents. Readers may remember that on 19 July, there was an announcement over the Wizarding Wireless Network that Narcissa Malfoy's Foundation for the Promotion of Wizarding Society and Culture had opened a pregnancy clinic to promote the health of expectant mothers and their soon-to-be newborn children. While all pregnant women were invited to use the services free of charge, witches whose babies were due in July were said to be given 'top priority' at the clinics such that they were required to report in for a mandatory evaluation. Any such woman who failed to do so would be owled a reminder to register for an appointment. The leaked memorandum, however, reveals that these evaluations were more than just one's regular check-ups with Healers. Expectant mothers who had not booked an appointment were rounded up and forced into the centre against their will. Even more disturbingly, all of the women who were due in July were apparently released no longer pregnant - not because they had delivered the babies at the clinic on the day of their appointment, but because their pregnancies had been forcibly terminated by Foundation Healers only a week or two before the babies were to be born. The terminations were also carried out regardless of the mothers' blood statuses - even Pure-blood witches carrying the sort of children purists like the Death Eaters and Foundation women would uphold as the future of the wizarding world were not spared. The memorandum itself can be read in full immediately following this article. [In addition to the article, the relevant memoranda and documents regarding the sterilisation bill and forced termination of wizarding babies due in July are reproduced in their entirety and without any editing for the special rush edition.] |
