( The witch and wizard, neither of whom seemed especially enthusiastic about the arrangement, had taken the lead and remained several paces ahead of the other two, heads snapping back with excessive frequency as if expecting them to take off and cause trouble if left unwatched for more than a second. So far though, nothing more chaotic than a cat tipping over a rubbish bin by accident had occurred. )

The inside of the safehouse -- most of it, anyway -- was decorated festively for the event, with a variety of bright colours and a banner that read 'HAPPY BIRTHDAY' hung up over a long conjured table where all the food was to be placed. There was a chocolate cake with cream cheese frosting, and next to it were containers of vanilla and cookies and cream ice cream (with charms on the containers to make sure they wouldn't melt). There was also plenty of alcoholic drinks, generously provided by James. Although the party started at 6:00 PM, Remus had asked everyone who could come to arrive shortly beforehand as he had arranged for the party to be a surprise. And to make sure as to not disturb Rufus' rest and healing process, the door to the room he is sleeping in is closed shut and the room soundproofed with spells. |

Tired of sitting around waiting for the day to pass, Pepper's thoughts had gone to Aubrey, and Conrad. They'd sent the latter back in the hopes the Death Eaters would suspect the possibility of collusion; they had even more reason to think it of Aubrey. Even if they'd intended to release him he might not have wanted to go. He was hardly a complete idiot or they would never have fought so much.
Moving carefully out of the camp wards, he Apparated to the cottages where the hostages had been kept to see what was going on. Entering, he headed to the room they'd had them in - and yes, there was Aubrey, sitting against the wall. "Catch," Pepper said, tossing an apple at him, and slid down against the wall opposite to take a bite of his own.

So, for the sake of kicking them when they're down, the Order devises a sinister plot to burn down Mulciber Manor. Equipped with whatever they can find, emergency portkeys and a serious grudge, the Order arrived at the Manor and spent a good deal of time taking down the wards on the property so that no one would explode. Once they did that and were able to get close enough, both literal and proverbial bombs flew and the house caught on fire. High fives all around!Post reactions and the like below!
