IC/OOC Log: Citizen's Watchdog Group Plannees
Who: Puppeteers Ladies involved in helping to direct the Citizens Concerned for the Truth
What: A meeting
When: 3 July
Where: Malfoy Manor

Rating: PG
Status: IC/OOC Log

All of the ladies involved in helping with the Citizens Concerned for the Truth group were invited to Malfoy manor this afternoon for tea and a discussion on how to best direct the group. Severus would have been there as a representative to the Minister and would have mentioned the PR nightmare of the Muggleborn trial events and asked if this group might be able to assist with that in some way.

He would have probably also encouraged them to come up with something that the government could fix, something that was very easy to fix, and something that would appeal to the majority of the Wizarding population.

Priorities:
  1. Ways to insure the CCT group appears legitimate in the eyes of the public.

  2. Ideas to deal with the PR nightmare of what happened during the Muggleborn trials. Could this group help solve that problem?

Other items:
  1. General propaganda & Public Relations

    1. See the Planning Doc for possibilities. :]

Narcissa did the tea serving, and I'm sure Draco was mentioned five or six times even if he wasn't there and it was irrelevant to the topic >.> In any case, her main point at the beginning was in order to legitimise the group, it likely needed to pander to the masses (which meant fixing something easy, as Severus had pointed out). She would have asked exactly what did they want done/changed about the muggleborn trial fiasco?

Narcissa would have also suggested adding more people to the group who are well-liked by the public, but not that Xenophilius Lovegood imbecile, please.

Severus would have suggested perhaps since the accusation of imperiusing was there, they should have the group interview the Wizengamot members, looking for signs of the Imperius curse just to make certain there were no others and of course if there were, then that could be fixed.

Severus would have asked if there were possibly others who were involved in charitable work but were not involved in the Foundation. They might be good people to get involvd in this group as it provided separation, but would still be known do-gooders.

Also, he would have totally wanted to have seen Draco after the group met, if there was any opportunity for him and Agatha to do so. >>

Agatha would have been rather quiet considering the company and stayed close to Severus. At the mention of someone involved in charitable work, she would have hesitated for a long moment then suggested Carlotta Pinkstone. She would have added that she didn't know all that much about the woman but she did know that Miss Pinkstone did do a great deal of charitable work.

She wouldn't have been entirely comfortable about dropping Carlotta into things like that (though she'd have done her best not to show that) but she's also of the opinion that a woman like Carlotta Pinkstone is more than a match for anyone in the room.

Lucius could totally have wandered in with Draco at the end of the meeting so the ladies (and Sev) could coo over him. XD

Severus would have told Lucius he was a very fine boy but in a manly way, obviously. :]

Anastasia was pleased as peach to be at the CCT planning group, and behaved as such.

As for actual suggestions, she would have said that perhaps, considering the damage done to some of their families' reputations, it would be best if they kept quiet everyone who was behind the project so that it wouldn't be tainted by association, and that, perhaps, it would be best for their propaganda to take a slightly anti-Ministry bent, along the lines of "Standing up for you in the new Ministry." That it would be best for the ladies if someone who was less publicised to do an interview with the WWN, perhaps the Token Half-blood (though she would have said, "Mrs Snape, as she is still a newer member of the group and lesser-known.")

For the Muggleborn trials, in thinly-veiled words, she would have said it would be best to find the "perpetrator" and pin the Imperiusings on them, and if it's someone from Albion, so much the better. >:)

Severus would like the idea of having the propaganda take a slightly anti-Ministry bent and would mention that idea would probably help to raise credibility and legitimacy with the public as well. If this group was asking the same questions (and getting answers in some cases) that the public was asking, they would be more likely to see it as a group on their side.

He would let Agatha respond to the idea of an interview, but would have been encouraging of the idea.

Severus would nod, and say that was the best idea, and did Mrs Mulciber or Agatha have any ideas about who it should be as they have recently gotten a look at the inside workings of the group first hand?

Anastasia would have said that perhaps they should do some research as to the questions that ordinary people who were not involved in society had about the government, because that would be a good place to begin as to where to investigate.

She would have said that some of the members of Albion definitely deemed capable of performing the Imperius Curse, particularly their leader, Scrimgeour.

Severus would have said that seems quite likely - perhaps they should have the group drop a few names they 'suspect' of having performed the curse.

Agatha would not have been entirely enthusiastic about the idea of the interview (partly because she's fairly certain she's being patronised with that suggestion but mostly because the idea of actually having to do an interview mildly terrifies her) but she would have agreed to do it if that's what the group thought was for the best. Also prompting her agreement was the memory of Severus' insistence that they uphold the right image, at least in public.

Severus would have given her a smile here and later in private he would have thanked her for being willing to agree as he'd guess she wouldn't be entirely enthusiastic about the idea (and he doesn't entirely blame her).
