Who: The Order of the Phoenix.
What: Marlene's 20th birthday party!
When: 13 June 1980, around 6:00 PM.
Where: The Order safehouse.

Status: OOC/IC Thread.
Rating: PG-13 at the most!

The inside of the safehouse -- most of it, anyway -- was decorated festively for the event, with a variety of bright colours and a banner that read 'HAPPY BIRTHDAY' hung up over a long conjured table where all the food was to be placed. There was a chocolate cake with cream cheese frosting, and next to it were containers of vanilla and cookies and cream ice cream (with charms on the containers to make sure they wouldn't melt). There was also plenty of alcoholic drinks, generously provided by James. Although the party started at 6:00 PM, Remus had asked everyone who could come to arrive shortly beforehand as he had arranged for the party to be a surprise.

And to make sure as to not disturb Rufus' rest and healing process, the door to the room he is sleeping in is closed shut and the room soundproofed with spells.

Remus had pretended to have completely forgotten Marlene's birthday all day, acting oblivious to any hints Marlene may have tried to drop. At 6:00 PM, he would have told Marlene he needed some help with some research on a few spells over at the safehouse and asked her if she could give him a hand. And, of course, when they arrived, there was a party instead! And then he would've wished her a happy birthday and gave her a hug.

Marlene would've gone about the day as if everything was completely normal and as if there was nothing in particular that they should have been celebrating, but was the day went on she probably would've been a little bummed out that Remus hadn't remembered it was her birthday, but would have been trying to constantly remind HERSELF that no one else in the world is as psychotically ridiculous about remembering dates as she is. Plus he stayed up late last night making midnight pancakes with her, which was celebration enough.

She would not have expected anything in the slightest when they apparated over to the safehouse, and her jaw pretty much would've hit the floor once she realised. There also would've been a bunch of "oh my goddddd"s and "you guys!"es and Remus totally got his ass tackle-snogged. Sorry everyone else for the temporary pda!

	Beth was very happy to be there and she bought several plates of ginger biscuits and also some bags of salt & vinegar crisps! She would have given Marlene a big hug and wished her a very very happy birthday and given her a birthday present! (Reply to this) (Thread)

	Remus wasn't sure how much attention Rufus and Amelia were paying to their journals, and so immediately after seeing this post during a down time at the party, he hurried into the room to inform them about Carrow and Mulciber and that there was a ward in the journals about it. 	When Hestia came, she brought with her a platter of lemon tarts and a platter of petit fours, as well as a lively fruit salad because she just can't bring enough food. She was her usual chatty, friendly self, and gave Marlene a luxury spa kit as a gift. (Reply to this) (Thread)

	Marlene totally would've been floored by how freaking cute all the food that Hestia brought was. Hestia would've gotten a huge hug too, and after she opened gifts Marlene would've been running around asking everyone if they wanted to sniff the lotion (and probably accidentally squirted some up someone's nose, whoops). Like Remus, Moody pretended to have completely forgotten about Marlene's birthday (which is, you know, way easier since they don't live together and whatnot). Moody brought some extra spicy chili and firecrackers/fireworks as promised. And his present to Marlene was a set of something fine for them to smoke together. No hugs or anything, but...Moody's version of sentimentality instead (a pat on the back and a 'happy birthday, kid', perhaps!).

	Whether Moody liked it or not, he got hugged when he patted her on the back. She would've been SO excited about the fireworks (I think they should be Gandalf in Fellowship-esque ones, totally). She also would've been very happy about getting high with Moody again. (Reply to this) (Parent)

	Patty and Sturgis came, though if they brought any food Patty certainly didn't make it. She wouldn't have drank anything but she would have had a lot of sugar and been pretty excited-like anyway. She also brought a present - a Czech Light Balloon, which is a balloon which, when blown up, will emit light for three hours. It only works once. (Reply to this)

James bought enough Alcohol, in every different color, to get the entirety of the wizarding population in Britain drunk. It was all muggle stuff since it was too dangerous to venture out much anymore otherwise but it was some good shit!

The alcohol was the main part of James's gift, but the second part he gave Marlene after pulling her aside. It was a small wrapped box containing this pin. The stone in the middle has been charmed like a mood ring to turn green when she's warm (which James assumed would mean horny.

He was chatty with everyone and very obviously in a good mood having a blast with Sirius and teasing Marlene and Remus.

	LATE LATE LATE, but Damocles came :> He gave Marlene those decorative red-green potions for Christmas (;__;) and a tie-dye colored wizard's hat. He said happy birthday and gave her a bear hug :D He also brought along some drugs courtesy of Doris! (Reply to this)
