Chicago's been my town for years now and I've made sure that everyone knows it. If you mess with Chicago, you're messing with Harry Dresden, Wizard for Hire. Of course, now that the vampires have come out officially, that's gotten a lot more difficult. The werewolves weren't far behind the bloodsuckers and now there's all sorts of things out there that want in on the Bill of Rights. Meanwhile, the White Council and the Wardens are busier than ever before trying to keep the peace. It's not just the supernatural community that needs protecting now. Now it's the whole world and I'm Chicago's only Warden.
Chicago is my town, and if you come here you'd better be prepared to follow the rules.
ALLOWED FANDOMS
Original characters - humans, vampires, wizards, warlocks, werewolves, shapeshifters, fairies, low-level demons, ghosts, etc. If in doubt, just ask. No gods, full demons, or full angels. Demons and angels must have some sort of built in power inhibitor.
True Blood - this fandom can stand pretty much as is. A vampire's age decides a vampire's strength. Shapeshifters of all sorts, as well as various other supernatural beings.
Dresden Files - this fandom is going very AU for this roleplay. There is only one variety of vampire and they are the True Blood sort of vampire. There is only one variety of werewolf and they are like any other True Blood shapeshifter. However, the White Council, wizards, Knights of the Cross, Fae courts, and the rest of the Dresden universe exist mostly as normal. See definitions of characters or contact the admins if you have questions.
MISSION STATEMENT
Roleplays are fun. This should always be first and foremost in your mind. We want this to be fun. However, long practice has taught us that what's fun for one person is not always fun for another. Keeping that in mind, it is our mission to adapt and grow and work with our players in order to keep the roleplay active and entertaining for the majority of the group. We encourage well thought out plots, character interaction, player input, and active posting.
CHARACTER DEFINITIONS
HUMAN - Your normal, everyday Joe off the street. Well, even if you're not normal, you are human. You may be well-trained, in excellent shape, and strangely beautiful but you're still just a living, breathing mortal.
VAMPIRE - Once, long ago, you were a human. Then you got bitten, drained, and turned. Now you're stronger, faster, and you have fangs. You've also got an allergic reaction to sunlight, silver, and stakes through the heart. You drink blood. Your strength depends on your age. Older is stronger. You've recently been recognized as citizens by the world at large and you're trying hard to not make too many waves. At least, not many that are very visible. When reworking Dresden Files universe vampires, use the following as a guide as the Dresden Files version of vampires do not translate in this game:
Red Court - half demons
White Court - incubus/succubus
Black Court - demon possessed zombies
SHAPESHIFTER - Werewolves, werecats, weres of any sort. One moment you're human, the next you're an animal. You're stronger than your everyday human, but you're going to have a hard time holding your own against a vampire. Each were can only turn into a specific type of animal - a wolf can only turn into a wolf, a cat can only turn into a cat, etc. Silver is not a danger, but you hold the same weaknesses as any human and/or animal. You can be shot, stabbed, dropped off a cliff and you're still just as dead.
FAE - Fairies, trolls, goblins, pixies, and other similar beings are all creatures of Fae. Fairies are the ruling class. They are otherwordly, very powerful, and extremely beautiful. They are either Summer or Winter, but both classes can be equally cruel. Trolls, goblins, pixies and other varieties are Wyldfae and may work for either Summer or Winter.
WIZARD - A magic practitioner with power. Wizards are ruled by the White Council and can perform spells and incantations. White Council law is enforced by the Wardens.
WARLOCK - A magic practitioner that does not abide by the White Council. Warlocks are rogue wizards and can be immensely dangerous.
