Ulquiorra and Orihime
So, about Ulquiorra (and Orihime).
I'm starting to wonder exactly why Ulquiorra keeps prodding at Orihime. Is it just that she hasn't broken yet, and he likes challenges? Does he want her to prove him wrong?
There seems to be no special utility in keeping his mind games up. If Aizen is telling the truth, which admittedly must always be in doubt, Orihime has served all the purpose he wanted her to, as bait and divisive distraction. But here's Ulquiorra, still casually dangling death threats in front of her, not to mention she's the only one I've seen him get touchy feely with in any way, shape or form.
If this is a twisted romance, KT is making a bang-up job of it, and I love it. But that just makes me wonder how it's going to wind up. It would seem anti-climactic for Love to Reform Him. So... what?
Maybe he'll be defeated by Ichigo (and possibly Grimmjow, who knows) this time, which is usually a trigger for Interpersonal Realizations. I could see that. Reconciliation seems less likely. So do we get a scene of a tromped Ulquiorra lying there looking up at the sky as everyone leaves, considering the new-found existence of his heart? Or will he be unregenerate?
Or, this being KT, will it be something weirder?
Inquiring minds want to know right now. *attempts to possess her soul in patience instead*
