That's it! 2015 is the dawn of a New Era in my life. No longer will I be a people-pleasing doormat desperate for validation and approval! I'm going to make something of myself. Just because I had a little bit of a crisis last March doesn't mean that I have to let some stupid television show control me and my mindset. I'm going to get a better job, one that actually uses my skills and isn't some soul-sucking customer service hell-hole with no opportunity for advancement. I'm going to figure out whether or not I want to go to school. I'm going to figure out my life. I'm going to stop eating cookie butter for breakfast and I'm going to tell people when they're being assbutts, and I'm going to be a better, more-secure person capable of decision-making and being strong and reliable and all of those adult things.

I appreciate the whole 'whisking away to safety and out of assassin's reach' thing, for sure, and the impromptu vacation's a nice touch, but this is kind of crap timing ultimately.

So last night I braved the crowds and made it to Trader Joe's for some last-minute foraging. Basically, if it said "peppermint", "holiday", "cozy", or some combination therein, I bought it (this is how I wound up with gingerbread flavored croutons). Since I was literally run over by a shopping cart for this food, you guys are invited to drop in whenever in the next few days to help me eat it and celebrate. I'll even disable the trap on the welcome mat. :)

TL;DR: I need six models for an exhibition at school, and two more to actually walk a runway (eight total). People who volunteer get in free, including free food, but anyone who wants to attend can get put on my list and get in for like $10 so it’s not bad! It's a fancy wine-and-cheese style event.

I have so much to finish this month holy frick.

Hey, I just wanted you to know that I talked with Mom and Dad and I think things are going to be fine, so there's no need to worry. We should probably not do like, a Secret Santa gift exchange at this point, but we're on the level where no one's going to attack each other and everyone knows how important you guys are. Dad's not happy about how things turned o some stuff but I think he respects that we have a peaceful place here. At the very least he's not going to mistake any of the Scotts for some power-crazed alpha.

Um, Dad said he really wanted to see the others, so fellow Argents, step up. Fair warning, Dad and Mom were flirting and it was horrifying, but it's also a distraction so I guess I'll just work on my gag reflex.

So hayyyy, who wants to volunteer 6-8 hours of their time for charity? October 25-26th, I'll be hosting a Children's Halloween Carnival. I got permission to use Gramercy Park & Hotel for indoor and outdoor activities, and am currently getting donations and backers for rides, activities, booths, etc.

What I need from you guys - anyone who's willing - is volunteers to work one or both days, man booths, work the carnival, picture & autograph booths, face painting, judge costume contests, bob for apples, maybe sit in a dunk tank, get hit with a pie or two? All proceeds are going to Children's Health Fund charity. So, yknow, kids.

Sooo, if you want to help (please!) contact me ASAP with when you're available. All day, a few hours, etc. I'm asking if you sign up, you at least do it in a 4-hour block so that I don't have to shuffle people around too much. Currently working on getting lunches donated for all of the volunteers.

SOS, SOS! McCalls and/or anyone with veterinary experience, I need your help!

On my way to work this morning I heard a meow coming from a dumpster, and after a LOT of disgustingness that I don't want to talk about, I found a really young kitten. I took him to the vet and they gave me some formula and he's eating, but he's SO small. Anything else I should know? I've never had a cat.

!!! One of the fashion buyers still in town from Fashion Week stopped me in the shop today and asked me about my dress. Which I made. He said he thought it was badass (paraphrasing) and would look for me in the future. Dying forever.

When you were a little kid, and you believed that whole "you can be whatever you want to be" line, what did you want to be when you grew up?



I went through a phase of wanting to be an astronaut. I'd read a story about Sally Ride and thought she was so inspiring, and I wanted to explore foreign planets and make friends with E.T. (all aliens were E.T.) But then I fell off the jungle gym and got scared of heights and that was that. It's funny how things change.
