Who: Elsa & Jack
What: Having a feels attack
Where: Wyoming; the ice palace, mainly.
When: Tuesday; January 14th
Status: Ongoing!
There were times, even now, that Elsa couldn't control her powers. Her feelings became a little too much to handle; a little too intense; and then people got hurt. It had been years since she'd struck anyone with said powers, really. The last time that had happened felt like a lifetime ago, but now, sitting in the town center, she felt lost. There were children to her left playing in the snow banks she had created a few days previously, their smiles big and eyes bright. A few outgoing children had come up to her to invite her to play, but she shook her head sadly, waving her hand instead creating a small cloud of flurries. Luckily their attention spans were short enough that they wouldn't question her decision, though their tiny voices saying "Thank you!" rang in her ears.
No matter how many times she would change her train of thought, it came back to the conversation that she'd had with Jack a few days previously. Elsa had gotten so good at shutting down dialogues she didn't want to continue, and had managed to maintain her whims doing so. But Jack knew her too well. He was, after all, the one that had taught her that her powers were beautiful; that she herself was beautiful and she believed in him more than she believed in most anything else.
Except that day. The days had long since passed since she and Jack had looked the same age before coming through the portal once again. It was hard on her, for the transition to go from looking like young adults to her looking in her mid to late twenties as he stayed the same and for her to reach 35 with the man that she belonged with looking young enough to be her son. It caused insecurities in her; those of which she had buried when she realized that finally, after all these years, Jack looked her age. Maybe even older.
But it couldn't stay that way forever. Before she would be ready for it, Elsa would begin to age; she already was ageing. She was nothing but human, after all, despite her magic. Jack would stay in this current form, while Elsa would get older and older, becoming weaker and deteriorating before his very eyes. One day she would be gone, and that was an unbearable thought for her. She didn't want to leave Jack alone anymore than he wanted to be left alone.
With a resigned sigh, Elsa rose from her bench, her attention turning to the west. In the twilight of the day, she could vaguely see the outline of her new home, and she smiled softly at it. It was something they created together, one of many, she knew. They'd travel and explore together and have a life together, but the happy thought was outweighed by a feeling of bitterness. Their memories would have to live on in Jack's mind in many years. It was difficult to think that what could be considered the blink of an eye for him would be the remainder of her lifetime.
Finally reaching home, she surged her hands outward, correcting dents on the door frame, then pushed her way inside.
