“Authority is unexciting. I’m supposed to bring fun. It’s part of the job description, really. The ego is a perk,” Jack responded, grinning. He laughed at the way she covered Baby’s ears. “Oh, won’t I? I’m pretty sure I will. I’m pretty sure you totally can’t resist me.”
Her eye roll was quite an impressive one, and so was her pout. “That certain man-child is a helpless victim to your wily ways, snowflake,” he said, sighing dramatically, then smiled. “And I’d choose it all over again if I had to.” He tapped her nose lightly, a little sparkle of frost coming from the contact, caused by one of the two of them. Sometimes it was hard to tell. Not that it mattered. “You’re flattering me, beautiful.”
Jack loved children. They came with the job description as well, of course. He very much liked the idea of having his own, which was something he’d not begun to think of until the last decade or so. Of course, his vision of them now always included Elsa. “Don’t be jealous.”
