Sometimes Rin just likes to get away. Away from the drama of the students, the hard walls, the pressure of being surrounded by so many being she could feel constantly. The problem wasn't necessarily that she could feel them, it was the fact that they constantly changed. Students were running and jumping, stomping on the grass, drinking, eating, digesting. Every person that came within her range, she could feel every ounce of water move through their system. She was able to handle it on a day to day basis but sometimes you just had to escape it.
Rin made her way down to the lake in the early morning. She had always been an early riser and it hadn't changed. Slipping on her swim suit and grabbing a few towels, she left the residential halls in silence. It was easier to deal with people when they were sleeping. Their bodies were at such a state of rest that it didn't bother her so much. It also helped with Morgan still being asleep. She had been practicing with Xavier and Morgan about controlling this new found power but it still wasn't easy. She didn't want to wake him with her thoughts.
The lake was a welcoming sight. She could still feel it with her powers, a massive spot ahead but it was calm. It wasn't as complicated as humans and other life forms were. It was a release from all that. Hardly anyone came out here it seemed. The pool was much preferred by a lot of them. Slipping in, her body changed. Blue and yellow scales danced across her skin, gills grew, her hands and feet changed into webbed flippers. Her second eyelids formed to allow her to see underneath the water. Smiling at the feel of the water, she dived deeper to the bottom of the lake and reveled in the quiet strength she had. She could spend hours blissfully in the lake. Sometimes she even played with the fish if she was in a particularly good mood. If she was in a bad mood....well, the school found themselves some fresh fish for dinner that night.
She had been zooming around unknown under the murky depths of the lake for awhile when something came into the water. Sending her senses upward, she frowned. She couldn't feel it. There was water around it but she couldn't sense it. It was like a void in her senses. It bothered her. Making her way up, she came upon it too fast and she was startled to find this thing writhing about. And then it chomped in her direction. Startled, Rin backed up quickly, the entire lake lurching with her presence to get away. Swimming under the dock, she made her way to the otherside and peaked at it from underneath. That's when she realized her favorite bunny boy was standing on the dock as well. Raising her blue scaled face from the water, she peaked up at him. "Be careful. There's something strange in here." Her voice sounded a little shaken, even.
