The school had yet to disappoint her. Not so far fetched that, her standards are usually easily met. No use in being picky about this entire mutant thing, it was difficult enough to understand. And she hadn't made anything crumble into tiny little bits since she had left Hawaii. The absence of stress might have something to do with that. Maybe her powers were more manageable than she had previously expected. But come on, who could have expected that one? Alani thought she was going to be destroying things for the rest of her already awkward adolescence. Lets just say that she was momentarily relieved that was not the case so far. That said, the people still made her slightly wary. She had made some acquaintances, but some people seemed hell bent on not liking anyone. That was fine with her. To each their own. She was quickly learning who required a wide berth given and who she could wave at without censure. Social cues, best to pick up on them now rather then later.
This evening she is wandering around before bedtime. Her sleep schedule still had not adjusted to her surroundings. This place looked nothing like home. Perhaps slightly. Oh, who was she to complain? Its the Caribbean. No one complains on vacation, right? And an all expenses paid vacation at that? She keeps her comparisons in her head.
Alani was walking about the Resort, which was fabulous by the way, when she spotted a lone figure. Warren. She had seen him around before, enough to recognize him and know his name, but she had yet to see if he was the waving type or the get lost type. Seemed he would be friendly, since he was half the reason they were able to go to this remarkable getaway. His profile was turned to her, and Alani was being sneaky enough to suspect that he had not spotted her, so she took a minute to drink in the sight of him. He was cute. Really cute. And she was, well, herself. That had never gotten a boy to notice her before. Not back at home anyway. Its not like her fashions were the latest trend, if it fit then she would wear it. She liked dresses, but not the ones that showed monstrous amounts of cleavage or thigh. Mostly if she wasn't wearing jeans and a t-shirt she was running around in sarongs. Not so enticing, she doesn't think.
The Xavier's boys seemed easy enough to come by as long as they weren't too old for her, taken, gay, or all of the above. Warren did not seem to be on that list at all. But what did she know?
Lets face it, the girl is a curious creature. And curiosity may have killed many cats, but at least they got their answers before they bit the dust. Alani takes a step in his direction. Then takes another. This adventure is slow, but damn it all she is going to do it. Another small step. A side skip. And then she is just hovering by him. Yeah, try not to be creepy! Her cheeks are full of that high red color that just screams "I'm stalking you, forgive me". She folds her hands behind her back and pivots one toe to the floor.
"Hi," she greets softly. After the word escapes her mouth, she nibbles on her bottom lip. If he told her to go away, at least she had the benefit of crawling back from whence she came.
