"Ho`oheno no nei no ku`u ipo aloha ê
No ku`u aloha, ku`u milimili...

A`u e pûlama mau nei, `ae
Mea ho`ohau`oli pu`uwai!"

Of course one could always assume when hearing a mumbled song in unfaltering pidgin that it was coming from whatever direction Alani was currently in. And thus was the case here. Alani was roaming around the grounds with the attempt of getting better acquainted with her new home. She also had her trusty Ipod handy with an overabundance of songs for her to flip through while she did this solitary activity. Her current choice was John K. Almeida's "O Ko`u Aloha Iâ `Oe". If she had been anywhere remotely secluded she would have tossed her head back and sang the words with unabashed ardor. But no, the timid girl was not about to do such a thing when the halls were dotted with roaming people such as herself or others with their bedroom doors open. Or in front of those with ears, no less. Instead she skipped out of the way when people passed her and kept her eyes straight. No need making a spectacle of herself. She just got here after all.

She adjusted her white and blue camisole as she flipped to another song, this one being "Ipo Lei Momi" by Keali`i Reichel. She bounced her hips a little bit to the beat and mouthed the lyrics, keeping her eyes downcast. So far she was not having too much trouble fitting in, but this place was still so new to her. And the people? Goodness, the people. She did not know what to think of this lot. They had all the makings of a teen angst soap opera but with super freaky powers thrown into the mix. These powers not only made some of them dangerous, but also caused too many internal problems for the majority of them. Alani winced at the thought. It was her powers that had driven her away from the only home she had ever known. But one part of her did not entirely regret it. Would she have ever got to leave Hawaii if her powers did not manifest? On the other hand, what was there not to miss when it came to home? The memories of the oceans was what really had her heart sick. And the heat. Where was the heat in this city? Alani was not sure how to accept all of this just yet, but she prided herself in doing well so far. At least she hadn't made any more walls crumble, which was good considering how destructive her mutation had proved to be so far.

Without noticing how much she was dancing, Alani continued to explore the mansion. Hopefully she didn't get lost. If she did? Oh well. Nothing more music wouldn't fix.
