Believe it or not but Silas had actually missed Nate's return and Vic's subsequent freak out. He'd woken up early that morning and had decided to run out and get coffee and doughnuts for the other early risers. By the time he'd returned there was broken glass, upset students and Forge was missing an arm. Needless to say he'd gone into full crisis mode that morning and by the time the day was over and they were sure Vic wasn't coming back for seconds, he'd collapsed into bed.
Today however was all about dealing with the aftermath. It was frustrating really that every time he was starting to make progress with these kids something else happened that put them all right back to the start. Sometimes Silas felt like he was trying to swim against the tide, that there wasn't any point in trying to fix anything because five minutes later something new would come along and wreck their lives again. Of course that kind of thinking didn't help him counsel his students but Silas just wasn't his usual optimistic self this afternoon. Maybe Xavier's had finally broken him.
Sighing, he spun round in his office chair once and then clicked on his computer. If he was going to sit here moping while he waited for someone to drop in then he'd at least pass the time playing Solitaire.
