Life planned out before my birth, nothing could I say; no chance to see myself, molded day by day.
The last year and change of Nate Grey's life had stretched on for what seemed like far longer than just that. Maybe it had been -- he couldn't say for certain, but he felt like time moved differently in some of the places that he'd been. And there had been a lot.
Upon his initial leaving, he hadn't been hopeful. He'd thought that this was part of Dark Beast's plan to get him back, to try and do more of whatever experiments they were that he'd started on Nate and others from the school. But that wasn't what had happened. Dark Beast hadn't been lying. Nate suspected it was because he preferred for him to be alive rather than dead, but the reasons for that were equally unknown to him. Whatever the reason, Nate had gone there and been taught. Shown how to focus his powers even more, using them to ultimately split the space-time fabric that kept world apart. The same fabric that the M'Kraan crystal had severed in order to bring Nate and an assortment of others to this world in the first place. He'd shown him how to cut through it, and told him what he had to do -- find another Nate who would be able to help him.
He didn't tell Nate which, simply that they would know, and know how to. So Nate had gone, moving through worlds until finally finding what e needed to. And then he'd tried to come back. There were...complications, though. Both in that world and on the trip back, difficulties that had drained him, and injured him. His body needed to rest and mend, as did his mind, and so his powers had thrown in one last boost as he traveled back. He didn't remember coming into the world, or crashing down through it. He was unconscious by that point, and his subconscious mind had formed a protective cocoon around him. It stopped anything from physically reaching him, as well as protecting him psychically completely. During his slumber he'd felt things trying to get near him occasionally, but never with enough force to truly wake him up.
His own mind and body did that instead, turning back on when they were ready to. And...not in the most graceful of ways, either. If it were a visible thing, people would have been able to see that cocoon shatter outwards with the force of his powers coming back to life. It went out from him like the shockwave from a nuclear bomb, rippling over the school and out beyond. When Nate had first come to this Earth, every psychic on the planet had been able to hear his scream. Now they'd all feel it as he woke up. Those in Xavier's school, being closest, would be hit the worst. The ones with no psionic abilities to speak of would have a sudden stabbing pain in their minds, the beginnings of a terrible migraine. The psychics themselves would feel and even hear more -- that scream again, followed by such a sudden and all-encompassing flooding of their minds that it would rattle them beyond belief, leaving their powers scrambled and their normal capacities even worse off. Those with psionic-blocking abilities would also be hit. Much in the same way that a train hits a car sitting on the tracks. Walls were left temporarily smashed, and the owners of the powers themselves were left feeling extremely disoriented physically, with a ridiculous amount of vertigo, and an inability to gauge distances and perceptions well for the next few hours.
It probably didn't help that a large number of them still had hangovers from the night before. Or that now, all of the electronics were disabled as well.
This, clearly, was not the best thing to have happen when there was a previously-amnesiac serial killer in their midst.
(OMG PLOT STUFF! Feel free to tag here with responses. X-Teams would be charged first with getting out to the lake to face whatever just woke up from the UFO-egg -- Nate's mind is still hiding who he is from them, and he hasn't come up out of the water yet. Which is just dandy because meanwhile, inside the house? Sabretooth now remembers who he is. And what he likes doing, if you get my drift. If you'd like your character to run into him, please note that at the top of your tag! If they can't all be gotten to in time, then we can obviously assume what happened. There'll be an OOC post later to establish who is in what state afterwards! All of the journals are down (because of the phones and comps not working), and game-time will be frozen for this post for the rest of the day!)
