Summary: Antonin doesn't suffer from hallucinations, he quite enjoys them.
At first, Antonin had not been amused by whatever he was coming down with. Aches, pains, nausea, then spots. It felt like his malaria had come back to haunt him, and brought his old case of Dragon Pox along for company. But, he didn't have the green skin...
Still, during his travels over more than half the world, he'd been immunized to most of the various muggle diseases he'd likely encounter. Then, there was the small problem that none of the usual wizarding potions seemed to have any effect on whatever he'd contracted. He'd even tried the Dragon Pox cure with no luck.
In the end, he'd given up on healer remedies and gone to muggle medicine. Antonin had taken enough antibiotics to make his ears ring. He'd started an IV - what a healer like Anthony would think about dripping things directly into the blood through tubes and needles made him chuckle, but glucose and saline would keep him from dehydration and starvation. Aspirin for the joint pain, and an anti-seasickness remedy to help with the nausea - for all the good that it did. Finally, he took to a comfortable chair in his sitting room and stopped controlling his body temperature. Apparently he needed to run a fever to help his immune system fight whatever this was. Who was he to argue with his white cells?
Antonin was humming along happily with his hallucination as the six-foot tall cat played the banjo and the kitsune did a slow, erotic dance.
