Adrian smiled but didn't comment, just concentrating on breathing and trying not to move so the pain was minimized. He really didn't want to even know what it would feel like when it flared up for real.
He let Stephen hold him tighter, sensing his mood change and even though he was tired he still looped an arm around Stephen's neck, kissing his jaw. It was instinct to try and reassure him; he knew Stephen hated the thought of people touching him as much as he did.
Sean noticed Stephen's reluctance to answer and the way the two interacted but didn't comment on it. "She will do," he said with certainty, his eyes looking over Adrian's back once more. "I'd say once more that it's a shame he's not being trained properly but I respect your decision on that. He really is a natural though."
