There it was, the insecurity he knew was Don's fault. The insecurities so easy to play on. He felt a pang of regret that any pureblood child should need to feel it, that his friend had not properly cared for his son's ego, but at the same time he thanked Don for the very same. It made his job so much easier.

Montague would see the warning for what it was when the attack came. Then he'd be grateful - and Theo would realise his value for his advice. By then Lucius would have all the information he needed. And hopefully the loyalty as well. A warning or two never went amiss.
