Severus swore as he read Vaisey's letter. He'd had his suspicions regarding Rosmerta but he'd never honestly cared enough to investigate them. He did his drinking in the privacy of his own home and on rare occasions in pubs like the Hog's Head. He stayed away from brothels as much as he could.
Still he would have thought the woman smart enough to take heed of the advice she'd surely been given about such potions, especially given that she worked in a pub. Cut glass from anything from a simple drop to a pub brawl could be dangerous. Stupid woman. Vanity was very poor reason to get yourself killed.
Auror Vaisey,
The only brewers in the area competent enough to make it are myself and Draco Malfoy. I have certainly not been supplying her and I would doubt that Draco has been either. But she struck me as a woman who would not seek such things so close to home.
I have attached a list of those in England whom I believe would be capable of brewing it as well as a handful of names in Europe. However I would not be surprised if she has been buying it from a more illicit source. Any reputable brewer would have warned her against prolonged use and refused to sell her more after a certain period of time. As such I have also attached the names of a number of dealers in potions who might supply such things without asking questions.
If you have any difficulty with the dealers, contact me. If they will not speak to an Auror, they will surely speak to me.
