Lucius listened, understanding his son's worry. 'They would not try to poison their own spy, now would they?' he said calmly. 'But no I do not mind a house elf showing you that it's safe if it puts your mind at ease. Being careful is most important after all, he said, rather proud of his son's caution.
'And no, I would not offer the potion to a new born, and as a result I would advice you and the rest of the family to stay at the manor and close it down from visitors. Owls are quite safe, no need to overdo it. Blame your wife's condition if needed, but keep the manor locked down and don't leave it until I let you know it's safe again.'
