Millicent huffed, crossing her arms and glaring at him. 'I'd better hope so, you've signed a document saying so,' she said with a snort.
'And no, this is not about that, this is about you upsetting him.' The idea that this would be ongoing for weeks or months did not ease her mind.
'And the next time you want me to tell the children to mind their own business - tell me in advance what it is I'm supposed to keep from them. Better yet, make sure no papers are lying around on the tables.'
She had a head ache now, and the baby was unsettled, she was sure. Or maybe she was just mistaking a rumbling annoyance at Miles with the still so subtle movements of the baby. Right now she didn't care, it couldn't be good for the baby that she was upset either way.
She rolled her eyes. 'Fine, take him home and explain for him why his new mummy and baby brother aren't living with you, that ought to be fun. Tell me how it went later,' she said, moving past him out into the garden and calling on the children, hugging them both.
'Liam dear, your daddy wants to take you back to the manor tonight,' she said in a light tone, kissing his head before letting him move over to Miles.
