Miles figured Liam's interruption could definitely delay the reaction that was inevitably coming from Millicent.
"Hey kiddo," he grinned, ruffling Liam's hair as Daphne picked him up. "Told you I was going to bring you a present," he grinned at the boy.
"And yes, did you teach Nigel any new words?" he asked, hoping Liam had been very distracted.
"But I missed you a heap," he admitted, very truthfully as he took Liam from Daphne, and knew that if Liam was true to form, everyone at school would know about the marriage tomorrow, which meant that within a day, they would be lucky to have a person in town who didn't know.
Liam's ability to spread gossip was as far reaching as Eva Montague, which was saying something.
"Why don't you and Ella go and play with Dragon, and we'll talk to Millicent," he said quietly. "we'll be going back to the manor soon enough."
He sent the boy on his way, and hoped that Millicent could keep a civil tongue, at least around Daphne.
