Stephen looked at the other man, confused. "You mean to do this at different times, then?" He really hadn't thought about that. It was simpler to do it in one night, more linear, but he could see the advantages of doing it in separate nights. "That actually solves another problem. I don't trust so many people knowing that we're going in and that would be inevitable if done on the same night." He looked at Snape. "This is one of those practical things that doesn't come in a book, yes? I'll have to consider it in my future analyses." There had to be a way to factor in these things; he'll just have to remember.
He laughed. "Why do I get the impression that you'll really enjoy this? I'm not that clumsy. Do you know that we had to care about the animals at the manor? We needed to get close to them, before we could captured them and heal them, or whatever the occasion was. If we can sneak up on wild animal, we can be silent when needs be." Of course, the 'we' included William, and in a way, his father's hands-on approach to work might pay out in other areas.
"You sound like my father," Stephen said, and he wasn't sure if it was a compliment or not. No matter what they said, plans helped, they made things easier, at least for him.
"My father wanted another Slytherin and got me instead," he said with a shrug. "There was nothing either one of us could have done to change that, but he loved me, in his very fucked up way. I wouldn't go as far as he went with my children, but he taught us some very important things, I think."
