"You had your blood pressure checked lately, Percy?" she said as the vein in his forehead was almost ready to burst. "I swear, I only say that because it looks like you need to calm down."
"So what you are implying is that I have a lack of intelligence because I was unaware of a person's history when there are NO records kept of any such assault or memory modification. Truly, who was on that case, because if there is an investigation, then they forgot to file the papers. As I said before, I'm not a legilimens!" Now she was letting her temper get the better of her.
Her mouth widened in incredulity at his bizarre logic. "You would have preferred I go alone to the home of a known death eater alone? Had I done that I'd be standing here right now and you'd be yelling at me for doing an investigation without backup!" Susan didn't care that her knuckles were going white against his desk.
When he dismissed the whole assault on Hunt, she knew that he had lost it. "So an assault on an officer - any officer - is less important than following the formal procedures? Merlin, you really don't get it, do you?"
She wanted to roll her eyes at his 'punishment', but figured it would be easier to just do it and then move on. "Mr Bletchley was on his way to Russia. I will make an attempt in every way to deliver it."
"As for the investigation into Rosmerta's murder, I'm sure a week away will give the killer a chance to get further away." Her nostrils flared slightly at the thought of being taken from the case. She had done so much work already.
