Susan had to clench her teeth and keep herself from saying anything out of turn. She instead turned her sights on the vein that was already throbbing in Percy's temple. If she was lucky, it would burst and he'd drop dead on the spot. But then again, she'd witness it and there would be more paperwork, and he would be the sort to come back and haunt her just so she made sure every I was dotted and every T crossed.
Susan was listening very carefully to all the questions that had been fired off. When he seemed done, she returned her own volley.
"Well firstly, she was given as an alibi. Secondly, there was no record of her being sick, and I'm not a legilimens nor do I spend my day trawling through everyone's medical records. Thirdly, I did identify myself to her elf and I had assumed the creature would have told her who I was. She only had to say who she was with on Friday, and I was gone. Instead I was treated with hostility and if anything, the woman should be arrested for perverting the course of justice by refusing to answer the question in a timely and seemly manner."
But when he started on Bletchley, Susan smirked. "I did everything you requested with Bletchley. I was helpful, polite and so was he, until Hunt was out of line and Bletchley stunned him. He was arrested for assaulting an officer."
"But he was cooperative and answered all questions to my satisfaction, and was only here overnight because Hunt thought he could strongarm a confession out of him. Protocol stated that Bletchley had to remain in custody until Hunt's medical check was completed." She didn't know if that was what he wanted to hear, but it was the truth, and that's all that mattered.
