Percy didn't need further evidence that Bones was an idiot. He had already found out about Miles Bletchley and was furious. He had specifically stated that he was to be treated with respect, and now he was in lock-up. Now there was another complaint.
He sat down, trying to compose a reply that didn't show just how much of an idiot Bones was.
Dear Miss Capper,
I assure you that it's not the policy of the Auror Department not to show proper identification. I will make certain that it will never happen again.
We do not check people's medical histories. However, it should have been made clear to you that you had the right to refuse speaking with Auror Bones.
I am, in fact, aware of the situation, and I apologise if the visit has had any negative impact. We are short-staffed, and are forced to accept less than optimal candidates for the job. It is the reason that we are holding the ball on Valentine's Day to collect contributions. Hopefully, that will alleviate the problem in the future.
I will investigate the situation with Mr. Bletchley personally, and I assure you that everything will be solved according to the law.
