Ernie was pleased when Terry led him around the corner to a cafe. He'd been hoping that Terry didn't want the date to end either. The cafe looked warm and welcoming and Ernie laughed and let Terry pull him over to a sofa and pushed him down onto it. His arm came around Terry's shoulders almost automatically when the other man sat down next to him. It felt so comfortable to do this, almost as though they'd been doing it for years.
The waitress who brought them their hot chocolates also brought them cookies 'on the house' and the look she gave them made Ernie blush. He'd seen that kind of look before.
"She thinks we're cute," he said wryly when Terry spoke. He picked up his hot chocolate and sipped it gingerly, smiling at the rich taste of the drink. "I saw the same look on the faces of some of the girls on the estate when they'd see Daniel and I together. There's something about two men together that seems to make some girls sigh and giggle."
