Dennis saw a momentary flicker of distrust over her face, but he could smell almost no fear. Well, that was something.
It seemed his pleading that did her in. He'd remember that for the next time - his next victim. He flashed her a very grateful look as he stepped over the threshold.
"Thank you," he said, still shivering. He really wasn't cold, but his shivering was from trying to hold himself back from feeding. "Oh thatys good."
He smiled weakled when she darkened the shutters. "Thank... thank you," he stuttered again as he sat down on a chair. "Not everyone would open their door to one of my kind."
