Severus winced and sighed as Terry spoke hurriedly. He ran a hand down his face, his expression becoming weary. He'd rather suspected that was what was upsetting Faustus, along with the constant whispers and speculation.
"I am not spending more time away from him than is necessary," he said irritably. "Slughorn was a disgrace as a Head of House. I had hoped he might have improved since he was my Head of House but he hasn't. Slytherins are different from the other students in this school. If you give them an inch, they will take not just the proverbial mile but three or four miles beyond that."
"I have spent most of my time sorting out things that should never have occurred in the first place," he finished with a dark look towards the dorms. Not one single thing had surprised him. After what Slughorn had allowed to happen to him, it was a wonder the old fool hadn't let any of the students get killed this time.
He made a disgruntled sound. "I have almost finished getting them back under control and once that is done, I will not need to be out of our rooms so much after school hours."
