Percy smiled. "I don't think you can get used to the idea of a six year old, Cass. He's not a baby, and you need to get to know him and the only way to do it is by spending time with him." He kissed Cass' jaw. "If it helps, I like him. He reminds me of myself at that age, quiet, asked a lot of questions, generally listened to everything that was being said around me."
He laughed. "As long as he doesn't listen to that, we're fine. He should do fine in school. It's the exposure that I'm worried about; he's not safe there." Then again, he didn't think he could be safe anywhere unless they kept him under guard 24/7, and that wasn't any way for a child to grow up.
