Lee was mildly appalled at the latest decree, because he was starting to see where it was headed. Also, this was going to affect Hestia, he just knew it, and she didn't need anything else on her shoulders at the moment.
He flicked on the radio, put his feet up, and started to talk.
"Good day, witches and wizards. This is a River Runs Through It, and this is your host, River. I suppose all of you know what this is about--our unbeloved toady Minister, and her newest decree. Though, honestly, aren't we tired of numbers? Or does she just not know her alphabet?" His smile, though it couldn't be seen over the radio, was a little malicious.
"So now we have a decree that states that werewolves, centaurs, and vampires cannot hold positions where they can pose risk for other people. Do you not see where this is pointing? It's aimed at the Headmaster of Hogwarts, who has been doing a great job, by all accounts.
"Why take someone who has been doing good work with children, whose condition has not effected his work, out of his position? Prejudice, I say. Why is she still in office? Why haven't we booted her admittedly heavy personage out the nearest window? I call for defenestration! I call for a new leader!
"If we don't do something, and soon, who is going to be in charge of our children? Someone from the Ministry? Someone Umbitch hand picks? And what are these people and beings going to do that are being shoved out of their jobs?
"It seems like it some of them, at least, will become easy pickings for the Lestranges and their crowd. More hardship, more enemies, more friends in trouble."
Lee sighed. "And what can we do about it? Until we find a way out from under her thumb, I don't see anything we can do."
He shifted in his seat. "I suppose that's all for tonight. Tune in again for the best and latest on music, opinion, politics and news to A River Runs Through it, hosted by yours truly, River. Until next time, I'm signing off."
He flicked the radio off, the music on, and sighed agian. What was this world coming to?
