'I will keep your offer in mind,' Theo said, not really caring if it was a quiet or quite loud knife, as long as it did the job. He nodded at the explanation about the rewards and said nothing. He didn't think it would be efficient, but that didn't mean he wasn't prepared to pay if it was. Whatever got the job done.
Dolohov's answer about Montague pleased him, however. He did not doubt the man's word on this, he looked too displeased with not knowing, and he knew both his and the Montague wards were strong.
'Someone attacked him, using ancient Dark Magic far above what is known by most.' He paused. 'It was done inside the ward - and they hadn't been breached.' He knew Dolohov, like himself, would know what that mean. Betrayal, from someone with access.
'I've looked at the list of people with access, few, with the exception of you and me, would have knowledge of this kind of magic. Actually even I did not have the knowledge of this particular branch of magic. I have found one name that interests me though - only one with a proper motive though I know nothing of the magical skill and knowledge - Guilian Montague.'
Again, he paused as he took a sip of his champagne, reading Dolohov's reaction before he went on. 'You went to Durmstrang once, as did Guilian, am I wrong to assume you'd have contacts at the school still? Would it be possible for you to find out what Guilian's knowledge and skills in the Dark Arts were when he was there?'
