Terry hated funerals. He hated funerals for friends even more. Thankfully the service had been short, but Terry could not bring himself to look at Theodore. He didn't know the other man well, but he was absolutely certain he had loved his wife.
He hadn't let go of Ernie's hand during the entire service, but when it was over Ernie offered to go get them something to eat, and Terry nodded. He needed to go say something to Theodore, but he didn't know what to say. He knew he couldn't tell the man everything was going to be fine, the words would be empty and false.
He glanced around and saw Ernie talking with an acquaintance, every once in awhile searching Terry out in the crowd. He smiled slightly at Ernie, and felt safe and protected that the other man was watching out for him like that. Ernie didn't seem to like to be away from him much lately, but Terry didn't mind. He found it charming and sexy that Ernie wanted to be near him so often.
Shaking his head to get back to the present, Terry looked around for someone to talk with.
