Verity had been looking for Marlowe on her own for a few minutes before asking one of the elves where he was. The reply made her heart tighten but she set off to Montague's room none-the-less. She'd expected to find him in the chair by the bed and at first was angry to see him in the bed with Monty. The more she watched though, the softer she felt. Soon she was wiping away a tear. After a few moments (enough time to get ahold of herself) she laid a hand on her son gently.
"Mon chou," she said softly. "Darling, it's time to wake up."
