Just a moment before he was supposed to enter, Theo hesitated, picking up the glasses from his pocket and turning them in his hand. As Rodolphus' voice filtered through the door, he made his decision and put them on.
Might as well have them on the entire meeting, explain them away with something being wrong with his eyes if Rodolphus asked.
Taking the handle, he pushed the door open, only practise keeping him from flinching at the site. Rodolphus looked, if possible, worse than he'd had the last time, and what was worse, there were no signs of any glamours.
He'd been so sure it was all pretend.
Using his self control to keep his face, he walked over to the chair and sat down. 'Rodolphus,' he said softly, his voice sounding completely normal even as he could feel his concern growing. Was Rodolphus really this sick?
'I assume you want to keep this as short as possible,' he said, handing over the slightly modified memory. It was the closet thing he would come to acknowledging the inconvenience he was causing. Anything more would be impossible - and out of character for him.
