Marlowe nodded vigorously. "Yes! But I have to be careful, I have to stay in the not deep spots, my old mummy used to say that lots" and he always listened cause she wasn't usually mean about it, just told him to stay in the 'shallow' side and then did whatever she was doing.
As she said that he shouldn't invite people if he didn't want them going he bit on his lip and didn't say anything, he was trying very hard to be polite and a good boy- but he really wanted to be selfish too. Finally he just nodded and with a quiet 'okay' didn't say anything else on the matter, not sure what to say beyond that; instead he gave a small smile when Miss Verty took Monster and hugged the grey kitten when she gave it back kissing it's head receiving a meow before he put it down.
Marlowe watched as Monster pounced at a fold in the bed and then looked back up at Miss Verty and smiled, licking his lips. Rocking slightly back and forth he put a hand on the book. "When will Mister Monty get better?" He kinda missed it when Mister Monty came and read to him too, even though he really liked it when Miss Verty did.
