He was almost grateful when Percy snorted, it made things seem less serious in a way. He almost managed a smile as he moved into Percy's embrace, wrapping his own arm around Percy as he leaned in and kissed his neck lightly.
'Some may argue that I stopped being a Slytherin when I became an Auror, or when I started dating you,' he said with a small smile, though the humour didn't quite reach his eyes even now.
Relaxing against Percy, he sighed and threw a look towards the letter again. 'I kind of always expected you to move on to something better after the war, maybe not at once, but once the Ministry was back in order. Head of Magical Law Enforcement perhaps,' he said with a smile. 'And yeah, I know things will be different, though I can't very much put my hopes to something being swept under the rug, now can I?' he asked, still it was a tiny bit of hope. He glanced at the letter again.
'I'm not really worrying,' he said, frowning as he thought on how to explain himself. 'It's more a feeling. I mean, I know all of this, it just feels different. I can't explain it.'
