Percy was relieved when he saw the letter. As far as he was concerned, it was a win. There was no trial, no jail, file sealed. He couldn't have asked for more, but he knew that Cass wouldn't see it that way. Thankfully it was close to seven already, late enough for him to leave the office and go home.
He walked briskly home, and went straight to search for Cass. The only good thing was that Cass hadn't sent the house elf to the office, which meant that things weren't too terrible. Of course one look at Cass made him rethink his position.
"Are you all right?" He sat on the couch next to Cass. "What's wrong, Cass? Is this about MacLaggen's letter? Because it's not that bad. It's better than we could have expected."
