Even as Theo kept his mind blank, the lack of reaction in Rodolphus was unsettling. If he didn't know better he'd almost think he was amused by it all, which once more made him wonder if Rodolphus was behind it all.
Only if it was, he had the best opportunity in the world to order Theo to finish the job, and so far he hadn't. Which left the option that Rodolphus really didn't care, or found this rather amusing.
Somehow Theo had always been of the impression that Rodolphus wanted order within his ranks, that he expected his Death Eaters to behave a certain way and not go off on their own, especially not towards one of their own. Yet now Rodolphus couldn't care less. It was not only unsettling but deeply uncomfortable to see, it also left him with a sour taste in his mouth.
Of course he let nothing of that show on his face or in his eyes. Instead he leaned back and took another sip of the cognac.
'Would you have any idea who would be able to use such magic,' he asked instead. 'If the list is short, it should not be a problem figuring out who did this - and then perhaps come up with a way to reverse the magic.'
