Cass pursed his lip to keep from laughing. 'Percy does have a life outside of the office, you know?' he said with a grin. 'Well, now he does, at least,' he joked. 'And yes, you're terrible.'
'I'm sure he's still hanging around the pub, though I can't exactly go there to find out. He hasn't been in touch with me though, and right now I don't think he will be.' He sighed, shaking his head. 'No not since then. I guess I should be glad, though it can't be much longer before he decides to send something else. Or get bored with her and kills her.'
He smiled a bit when Adrian said he didn't care, wondering when so many of his friends and acquaintances had started to grow tolerant. Most of them certainly hadn't been at Hogwarts. 'There aren't so many details to give, though I wish there were. There was an owl that went unanswered, but I was too swamped at work to check it out. Then Miles asked me over for a drink a few days later and when I was there he told me Rodolphus' wanted information. About everything. Cases, jobs, schedules, secrets - everything. I tried to false information route - or should I say the meaningless information route, telling him a lot about what where we buy our quills and who makes the coffee. That's what got me the eye.'
'I'm more or less out of options, here, Adrian. Either I find out where she is and go and get her, or I'll have to watch the result of his sick games until she dies. It's that or spying and I won't do that. It's another reason I resigned - I don't want to have access to all that information the next time he sends me something.'
