He wasn't particularly surprised by Adrian's power of observation, and didn't really see the point in lying. Him and Percy would be public soon enough, and he had asked Adrian here with the hope that he'd do him a favour.
He was still aware of how important it was that he worded this right, but that was a part of beind Slytherin. What you said was always important.
He walked into the living room slowly, relieved when he could finally sink down on the sofa. He tried to hide the slight wince of pain, but wasn't sure he was successful.
'A lot of questions at once,' he said with a smirk, nodding towards the arm chair next to the sofa. 'Shall I take them one at the time?' he asked, moving his hand from his knee as Plato jumped up into his lap and demanded that he'd pet him.
'No, this isn't my house, though I could have let you in without getting up if my magic wasn't so busy making sure I don't keel over and die, and if I hadn't lost my wand in the battle,' he explained, almost as if it was a joke. 'As for how I am...better than I was. At least I can get out of bed on my own now - it just takes me forever.'
'As for Plato here, he isn't mine either, though he acts like it most of the time.' As if he understood what they were talking about, Plato wagged his tail and buffed Cass's hand to make him pet him. He looked down at the dog and smiled affectionately.
He paused for a moment. 'As for what else I'm hiding, that's actually a part of why I asked you here. Let's say it's probably more than you realise.'
