Severus lurked in the shadows near the wall and watched the various people Draco had invited arrive. Occasionally one would cause an eyebrow to quirk and there was one or two he would prefer to avoid but by and large they were not an unexpected group. Most of them were what he'd expected for the job in question.
And it was going to b an interesting job though Umbridge was making t easier with each unpopular and restrictive decree that she issued. For all her bureaucratic ability, she wasn't much of a political animal. If she was, she'd have shored up her position with the populace before gradually introducing such measures in increments so that no one really noticed or cared.
She'd taken the same ham-fisted approach at Hogwarts and it had failed for her. One would think even a reasonably intelligent person would examine such a failure and work out how it had happened rather than just bull forward as though persistence would work in this case. The woman was going to find herself sorely disappointed yet again and he made a mental note to prepare for any potential repercussions.
His gaze flickered over to Draco and his lips quirked for a moment. Minister Malfoy. It had a certain ring to it and Draco had always been ambitious. This was going to be a highly interesting meeting.
