Pansy frowned. The girl doing the books at the Inn had sent her the notice. She bought produce and fresh meat from some Muggle farmers in the area. How could she run an Inn without food?
And how could her customers eat dinner if they had to ask permission first? Would she have to put on her menu what had Muggle ingredients? But that was virtually everything, with so many wizarding families in Hogsmeade for safety!
Sighing, Pansy reached for parchment.
Dear Minister Umbridge,
Pansy Parkinson, here. You remember me from Hogwarts, I'm sure. Anyway, I got a copy of your newest decree. Not the baby one, but my daughter was born last year so I suppose she was grandfathered in or something. No, I'm referring to the one about Muggle contact.
I run an Inn in Hogsmeade. With all the families who have left their farms and estates to come to the safety of Hogsmeade, I've been forced to purchase much of the food I serve from Muggle farmers. The Inn has always prided itself on serving the freshest produce and ingredients. So I suppose that I need to request permission to continue those purchases Otherwise, I don't see how I can stay open. Or feed my bookkeeper.
But will my customers few that they are have to apply for permission in advance to eat at my Inn? I haven't been advertising that all some of the ingredients are from Muggle farms, so they wouldn't know. Isn't there some sort of special dispensation that could be had to cover their meals?
I remember you as a most helpful person, and I'm sure you can aid me in this....
