Cass almost laughed when she hit him, hugging her tighter (and holding her hand) to keep her from doing it again. He may be weakened, but not so much that Pansy was stronger than him.
'See that was the problem, I didn't think, I panicked. All I could think about was protecting Percy and my mother - all at the same time. Completely impossible, I know.'
'And I'm still not sure how it happened. There was an owl that returned without a letter from her, and then a few days later Miles told me that she was kidnapped and that I needed to spy on Percy and the Aurors if I wanted her to stay alive,' he said with a sigh.
'Unfortunately I don't think anyone can help. The Aurors have the information now, Harry know of it since I told him about Percy - and you're not allowed to be angry with him because I told him I wanted to tell you myself,' he added quickly. 'Miles said he'd try to find out where she was being held, but he's not coming through for me so far. Without knowing where she is there isn't a damn thing I can do about it. He still has her, and I have to learn to accept that there is a good possibility that I'll never see her again.' He hugged her tighter, then smiled.
