Pansy waited and waited. Finally, the door opened and she found herself following a rather obnoxious house-elf. After listening to the mutters all the way upstairs, Pansy had had enough. She wasn't usually harsh with house-elves, at least not since that she was a child, but she wouldn't take one complaining about her Cass.
'I am quite sure I could find Mr. Weasley a much more agreeable house-elf for the Auror's Office,' she said pointedly. 'I have a number working for me who would love a permanent position and who would be able to show their appreciation appropriately.'
The elf continued his mutters as Cass dismissed him, and Pansy's eyes narrowed. She was half of a mind to suggest that Percy switch elves with her for a time. Let this one scrub floors and pots for awhile.
She shook off the annoyance and smiled at Cass. Determined to explain herself, she protested, 'I didn't know if you could get to the door. I didn't want to knock and make you feel like you had to drag yourself down to see who it was!'
Waving off the chair, she approached Cass, gingerly hugging him as much as she could without putting much pressure on him so she didn't hurt him. 'Darling, how are you????' she asked.
