"Don't, Cass. Stop apologising. Things are the way they are. There is no point in regretting the past." He couldn't bring himself to say that there was still time to meet her. He didn't want to give Cass's any false hope, or worse lie to him.
"Your father was a Slytherin," Percy said with a smile. "So are you, but I guess we know where your Gryffindor side comes from. Stubborn and brave, she would have been sorted in Gryffindor."
Percy understood the rest a little too well. He was sure that his own parents wouldn't have approved of them, not when the greatest accomplishment in their eyes was to have a spouse and children. "Who says that you don't have a family? You are my family, Cass, and I suspect once Ginny finds out, you inherit a sister regardless of our feelings on the matter. I know it's not what our parents would have considered a family, but that's what we are, isn't it?"
