Neville was accepting everyone's condolences, smiling quietly when he could - but thank the Gods for Ginny. If he'd have spoken, he probably would've broken on the spot. Ginny hadn't left his side the whole time, except for work which was altogether understandable - he had spent his time alone in the greenhouses when she was off.
She had been his angel when he thought there was none left.
He snapped to though when he looked around, seeing a lot of people he'd only met once or twice, quite a lot of Slytherins as well and assumed they were here out of either appearance, because they knew Neville himself....or both.
"Yes, thank you for coming." He gulped again but pulled a double-take along with Ginny when Pansy's little girl mumbled something that sounded like Harry. It couldn't have been of course... but still, it reminded Neville that he hadn't seen Harry come around yet.
"Thank you love..." he had said to Ginny when Pansy had left. "...I don't know what I'd do without you." he lifted her hand that was twined with his and kissed the back of it. He really wished this day would just end ... and he could go home with Ginny and feel something other than this. But he had other matters to attend to... such as his mother and her odd behaviour. Just a day or two was all he asked, to get over the loss and just spend it with Ginny - his birthday was coming up, perhaps a night out was in order, if a little bit early. "Are you alright, I can get you something to drink if you need it." he said quietly to her. Gods she's wonderful... what did I ever do to deserve her?
