'Maybe, maybe not, that depends on how actively you fight them,' he said softly, too tired now to argue. His head was hurting, and no matter what he said Montague seemed intent on hating him already.
And he hadn't even got to Percy yet.
'Look, I'll try to protect you as much as I can, I'll talk to Percy, I already have even, but in the end I can't control what they decide to do. For what it's worth, I don't think anything will happen yet, they might approach you, but...ahh, hell, I can't know. It's not my job to know any more.'
He sighed, when as on cue Montague asked if there was anything else. 'One thing,' he said, so exhausted by now that he didn't even have the energy to think of how to word it. 'And I'm telling you this because you'll find this out too soon enough, when we go public with it.' He took a deep breath and looked at Montague. 'I'm gay, or bi, actually, have always been shagging blokes as much as birds, but that's not the point. The point is that during all of this....the coma, the mess I've made,' he made a gesture with his hand, indicating everything and nothing as he tried to find the words. He didn't.
'I'm moving in with Percy tomorrow, or as soon as they'll let me out of here at least. I...I know how you feel about blokes shagging, which is why I wanted you to hear it from me and not somewhere else.' He nearly laughed with the absurdity of the situation. 'Given our...conversation today it seems almost idiotic to tell you, but there it is.'
