'Oh, great,' Morag groaned. 'I spend my adult life gathering information, and Pansy Parkinson knows before I do....just lovely!' She shook her head. When this pregnancy was over, things were going to change.
But this wasn't about her, right now. 'She'll understand,' she soothed, even though she wasn't convinced of it, herself. 'She knows how things work in the older pureblood families. She grew up in that culture.' Morag had been pureblood, but her family had been nothing like some of the English and Continental families. Maybe because they'd never had the fortune that the other families did. Whatever the reason, she was just relieved to have been spared the rabid nonsense some of those families inflicted on their children.
She shrugged, wondering if she would ever be able to get out of a chair gracefully again. 'You have a reputation as a good Auror,' she said, even though they both knew he could have been pants at his job and she'd still have wanted to help out Percy. Luckily for her, he did have some talents and skills.
'Goodbye, for now,' she said at the door. Then she smiled. 'And don't make me regret not making sure that the lesson about hurting Percy wasn't more unpleasant that it was....' But there wasn't any sting in her voice.
