Cormac had figured something like that had happened, though it hadn't been confirmed until now. "I'll have to document that for the report," he said, voice serious. He knew that Obliviate was not an uncommon spell for an Auror to use, but never in such a manner. It went beyond even the grayest of lines. "I won't try to track down the girl though, there is no point in that."
He tried returning Cass' weak smile, and reached out to gently pat his shoulder. "It's my job, and I'll do my best, which might mean something unpleasant for you," he said. "But don't worry about that just now, we'll deal with it if it comes to that."
He patted Cass' shoulder once more, and then headed for the door. He had work to do.
