Cass made a face at the thought of...well even thinking about that night, but he knew there was no point in stalling. 'I was being me,' he said with a frown.
'I picked up some girl, can't even remember her name, can't say that I care about it either. Anyway, I brought her home and waited for Percy to trigger the wards to set up...well I think you can imagine what I made it look like. All to easy to believe when you're with someone like me, right?'
He sighed. 'I should probably add that I obliviated her afterwards,' he added, though he knew that was not something that was in the strictest sense legal, or legal at all if you didn't have the right training and permissions. That didn't mean that not every Auror had done it at times of necessity, towards muggles most of all. This was, however, an entirely different situation and he knew he had stepped out of line when he cast that spell.
He was rather relieved when Cormac said it was over for this time, and tried to give him a semblance of a smile. 'Thanks for doing this.'
